Our Mission
Rebuilding History. Inspiring the Future.
The Supermarine Seaplane Charity (No. 1190836) exists to:
Rebuild a full‑scale, flying reproduction of the Supermarine S.5, the 1927 Schneider Trophy winner.
Celebrate Britain’s engineering breakthroughs, courage, and national pride.
Educate and inspire young people through STEM outreach and aviation heritage programmes.
This project brings back to life a golden age when Britain competed — and won — against the world’s best.
Why it Matters

The Supermarine S.5 — A Masterpiece of Speed
In the late 1920s, no manned vehicle travelled faster than the Schneider Trophy racers. The S.5 was a radical, all‑metal, record‑breaking machine that demanded the world’s top pilots and engineers.
